Mechanicsburg defeated WL-S, 22-25, 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 16-14, in OHC volleyball.
For the Indians (6-3, 4-2), Miranda Lauchard had 8 kills, 9 digs, Emma Dunham had 10 kills and 10 blocks, Elly Schipfer had 8 kills, Mary Mayo had 10 kills, Callie Kaiser had 10 digs and Katie Bush added 35 assists and 10 kills.
For the Tigers, Jamie Peterson had 30 kills, 7 ace serves and 18 digs, Kylie Gilroy had 45 assists, Tory Cordell had 10 kills, Olivia Ames had 23 digs and 29 serve receptions and Emily Schultz had 4 ace serves.
Urbana volleyball wins
Urbana defeated Indian Lake 26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-8 in CBC volleyball.
Mackenzee Martin had 15 kills and 5 aces and Macy Pierce had 25 assists and 11 digs. Katy Curnutte recorded 20 digs, Hunter Rogan had 12 kills, Kaelyn Bertsch had 8 kills and Kim Asper had 6 kills.
The UHS jayvee lost 25-15, 23-25, 23-25. MacKenzie Bean had 7 kills, Taylor Adams had 9 assists and 6 aces and Megan Ridder had 5 kills and 5 aces.
WL-S prevails in boys soccer
The WL-S boys soccer team defeated Southeastern, 8-1, in OHC action. Leading the way with 4 goals and 1 assist was Cole McDaniel. Ralph Levan netted 2 goals with 1 assist. Neil Markin also scored 1 goal and had 1 assist. Christian Parker rounded out the scoring for WL-S by getting 1 assist.
Elias Kirker-Napiorkowski had 2 saves in goal. The Tigers are 6-4 on the season and play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at home against Graham.
Indians split golf matches
Mechanicsburg defeated Greenon 175-184 in non-league golf.
Caleb Westfall shot 39 and Mack Cushman had a 40. Corey Bogan shot 47, Cody Minor had a 48, Austin Wolfe carded a 50 and Jack Shoemaker had a 59.
Mechanicsburg also lost to Southeastern, 164-177 in OHC golf.
Cushman had a 41 and Westfall shot 43. Bogan had a 45, Minor had a 48, Wolfe had a 48 and Shoemaker shot 49.
UHS falls in tennis
Urbana lost to Northwestern, 5-0, in CBC girls tennis.
At first singles, Haylee Johns lost, 6-0,6-0.
At second singles, Morgan Lattimer lost, 6-1, 6-0.
At third singles, Katie Asper lost, 6-0, 6-0.
At first doubles, Bri Ussher/Olivia Krieger lost, 6-0, 6-1.
At second doubles, Myea Ogden/Kim Lebo lost, 6-0, 6-0.
Junior high football
The WL-S junior high football team defeated Greeneview, 20-14.
Trevor Woodruff threw a touchdown pass to Zach Glock and a touchdown pass to Ethan Cole for the Tigers (3-0). Zane Reed added to the scoring with a 3-yard TD run. Cole also kicked 2 extra points and had an interception to help lead the defense.
Jayvee game cancelled
The WL-S jayvee football game scheduled for Saturday morning versus Northeastern has been cancelled.
