Busy weekend at Shady Bowl

DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway will host two big days of action this weekend. Saturday will feature all classes in action. The late models, modifieds, street stocks, pure stocks, tuners and compacts will all take to the oval.

It will be double points night in all classes. The current standings show Jim Lewis, Jr. leading Mike Ward. The modifieds are led by Greg Stapleton with Brad Yelton in the runner-up spot. The street stock standings show Buck Purtee leading Rodney Roush. Matt Jackson is the top driver in the tuner class as he leads Terry Eaton. Larry Adams is the man in charge of the compact points. Zach Doolin is trying to close the gap, as he is second. In pure stocks, Jason Purtee leads Rob Bryant in the title chase.

It will also be Dayton Auto Racing Fan Club night with all current members admitted for half price to the grandstands.

On Sunday, Spinning Wheel Productions will rent the speedway to put on a demo derby. In addition, there will be a swap meet. Vendors can start setting up at 9 a.m., with the meet opening at noon. There will be events for mowers, mild weld, street stock, compacts and trucks.
