Blue Knights post combined 3.29 GPA in spring

A total of 113 student-athletes earned a spot on the 2016 Urbana University AD’s Spring Honor Roll, the UU Department of Athletics announced this week. To qualify, student-athletes must register a 3.25 or higher grade-point average (GPA) during the semester.

“We are thrilled to announce this list, which highlights our student-athletes who achieved a great milestone during the spring semester,” UU Director of Athletics Larry Cox said. “These talented individuals continue to raise the standard at Urbana and reinforce our commitment to excellence in the classroom. They derserve a ton of credit, along with our amazing staff and faculty members.”

As a whole, the Blue Knights recorded a 3.296 GPA led by 30 individuals recording a perfect 4.0 – which is six more than the spring of 2015.

In addition, 12 of the 15 programs recorded a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Men’s soccer had the highest overall team GPA at 3.72, while women’s volleyball reported the highest overall female team GPA at 3.71. The women’s basketball team also had a solid semester and placed the highest percentage of players on the list (9 of 11).

The scores from Thursday night men’s league were Hiles and Son Excavating 13, Multiple Scorgasms 9; Hit or Miss 3, Amvets Post 121 17; Champaign Excavating 20, Bad News Bears 8; Dirty Bandits 13, Long Road CrossFit 3; Champaign Excavating 10, Dirty Bandits 9.
