DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway has announced that the “Brawl at the Bowl” has been cancelled. The decision by the Michigan-based F.A.S.T. super late models left Shady Bowl promoter Rick Young scrambling to put a racing program together for Saturday night.

The rained-out Bill Lewis Memorial for the modifieds will be run this Saturday.

The race winner will take home $1,200. The race is held annually in honor of Lewis, a car owner and builder from Dayton. Perhaps his best known driver was Lee Raymond, who went on to claim two ARCA Super Series championship.

In addition, the street stocks will also run a 40-lap feature with $700 going to the winner. The pure stocks and tuners will also be racing. The racing action will start at 7 p.m.

In addition to the action on the track, a custom car show will be staged behind the grandstand. Registration for the car show will start at 9 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in 12 classes.

In addition to the cars, Elvis impersonator Greg Jaqua and a DJ will provide music. There will also be a swap meet, arts and crafts and a flame-throwing contest.

The modifieds (pictured) will compete in the Bill Lewis Memorial Saturday night at Shady Bowl.
