“After a rocky start at Saturday’s meet, I was proud of the way the girls regrouped and came focused and ready to compete,” said WL-S Coach Ann Vogel. “There were a lot of gutsy individual performances, but I was most impressed with the team effort the girls put forth to win. We had only 42 seconds separating our 1st through 5th runners.”

The WL-S girls compete next at the Tiffin Carnival on Sept. 12.

The Tiger boys easily won the meet at Indian Lake.

Placing for WL-S were Joey Adams 1st 16:33.4; Ross Kelley 2nd 17:00.6; Nick Williams 6th 18:20.2; Charlie Williams 8th 18:47.0; Andrew Landis 11th 18:48.4; Isaac Smith 14th 19:13.0; Bryan Woods 15th 19:34.8; Jordan Lewis 17th 19:43.5; James Loffing 18th 19:47.0; Konner Smith 19th 19:50.6; Tyler Louden 25th 20:40.2; Zavier Esch 27th 21:15.9; Kannon Stillings 30th 21:40.6

“Simply incredible is how I would describe the night for our team,” said WL-S Coach Mike Louden. “The overall take away from winning the county meet is pleasing in many ways, but most of all was to see several guys gain confidence and finally battle some internal demons. It was a solid collective team effort.”
