UHS to host meet the football team night

Urbana High School will host a meet the football team night on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the stadium – weather permitting. If weather doesn’t permit, it will be held in the high school gymnasium.

Spectators are asked to donate an item to assist the BackPak program through the Caring Kitchen. Items to be donated include non-perishables such as Ramen noodles, individual fruit cups, pudding cups, individual microwave mac-cheese, instant soup, granola bars, juice boxes, individual serving size of crackers, etc.

UHS hosts London on Friday, Aug. 28 in the football season opener.

In addition, Ray DeCola, Bob Brenning and Mike Simpson will be inducted into the George Scott Ring of Honor that evening.

UHS girls prevail

The Urbana girls golf team defeated visiting London, 218-248. Medalist for the match was UHS’s Maggie Paulsen with a score of 50. Becca Chess also scored a personal best round of 55 for the Hillclimbers.

Triad golf results

The Triad girls competed at the Ben Logan Invitational at Cherokee Hills and had a team score of 475. Triad was led by Macy Linscott with a 94. Chasity Curton had a a 112, Jess Woodard a 129, Jen Pelfrey a 140 and Sabrina Thompson a 140.

The Triad boys (0-1 OHC) lost to Catholic Central at Woodland, 178-206. Triad was led by Alec Ober with a 47, Caleb had a Young 47, Shem Pond a 55 and and Zach Warner a 57.
