Six county wrestlers advance to NCAA tourney

Six former Champaign County wrestlers will be among 31 former high school grapplers from Ohio who will compete in the 2016 NCAA Division I National Wrestling Tournament on March 17-19 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Ohio is second in total qualifiers to Pennsylvania.

Nick Brascetta, a 2011 Graham graduate and redshirt senior for the Virginia Tech Hokies, comes in at 7-3 at 157 pounds. Brascetta is a three-time ACC champion and a two-time All-American.

Isaac Jordan, a 2012 Graham graduate and redshirt junior for the Wisconsin Badgers, enters the tournament undefeated at 25-0 in the 165-pound weight class. Jordan is a two-time All-American and a two-time Big Ten champion.

Ryan Taylor, a 2012 Graham graduate and redshirt junior for the Wisconsin Badgers, comes in at 9-5 for the season at 133 pounds. Taylor was an All-American last season.

Bo Jordan, a 2013 Graham graduate and redshirt sophomore for the Ohio State Buckeyes, comes in at 16-2 at 165 pounds. Jordan was an All-American last season and placed third at the national championships.

Micah Jordan, a 2014 Graham graduate and redshirt freshman for the Ohio State Buckeyes, comes in at 25-2 at 141 pounds. Micah was a four-time Ohio state champion in high school and 31-3 in open tournaments last season while redshirting for the Buckeyes.

Austin Reese, a 2014 Mechanicsburg graduate and redshirt freshman for the Ohio Bobcats, enters the tournament at 21-12 in the 165-pound weight class. Reese was a four-time state placer in high school and won a championship his senior season.
