Sign up for free email and Google Docs classes at library

Do you want to learn more about using email or the free word processing program Google Docs?

Then it’s time to register for new, free classes offered at the Champaign County Library through the Northstar Digital Literacy program.

The Using Email class will meet at 2 p.m. at the library on Thursdays, May 12, 19 and 26. This class will explain email from start to finish, including signing up for a professional email address, email etiquette and how to use attachments.

The Google Docs class will meet at 6 p.m. at the library on Wednesdays, May 11, 18, 25 and June 1. Lessons will include how to set up and create a Google Doc document and how to collaborate with others through Google Docs.

Both classes will be hands-on, with students using library laptops.

In addition to classes like these, Northstar Digital Literacy offers self-directed assessments and learning tools to help you improve skills with computers, software and technology to prepare you for career opportunities or personal achievement. Northstar offers a choice of assessments in 14 digital skill areas.
