Oktoberfest applications available

The Oktoberfest committee is busy planning for this year’s Oktoberfest. The Sunday, Oct. 4, event will feature, as always, hand-made crafts and decor, demonstrations, music and plenty of food from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Champaign County Historical Museum, 809 East Lawn Ave.

“It’s a fun activity for a family and it helps the Champaign County Historical Society,” Dick Virts, museum curator, said. The 43rd annual Oktoberfest is the society’s largest source of revenue.

Many vendors occupy the same booth year after year and often ask to be placed next to friends’ booths. The ever-popular bratwurst and German potato salad will be served again this year.

To apply for this year’s festival, stop by the museum, mail a request to P.O. Box 65, Urbana, OH 43078, or call 937-653-6721. Requests for applications can be done by email at [email protected].
