SPRINGFIELD – As part of its Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, Mercy Health – Springfield will host Ladies Night Out for Breast Health: Branch Out for Breast Cancer, an educational event, on Thursday, Oct. 3, at the Clark State Hollenbeck Bayley Conference Center, 275 S. Limestone St., Springfield.

Did you know breast cancer can be connected to your family tree? Experts agree that some breast cancers are hereditary, caused by abnormal genes passed from parent to child.

Are you at risk? Mercy Health invites you, your family and friends to learn about the genetics of breast cancer and what you can do to manage your breast health from experts in the field: Genetic Counselor Susan Weisman, CNP, Medical Oncologist Jyothi Challa, MD, and Surgeon Pamela Bucklew-Wilder.

Doors open at 4:45 p.m. and the event begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include dinner, wine, dessert and giveaways.

Pick up your tickets from Mercy Health – Springfield Regional Cancer Center, 148 W. North St., Springfield.

For more information or to purchase tickets, call Ann Hembree at 937-523-8617.
