CT collecting winter wear for Caring Kitchen

0

CT Comm, local high-speed Internet and network solutions provider, is rallying together with local businesses and individuals to host a new and gently used mitten, hat, glove and scarf drive. The cold weather apparel collected will be donated by CT Comm to The Caring Kitchen of Urbana in preparation for the winter months.

CT Comm representatives say CT is committed to an established tradition of giving back to the community through continued sponsorship of the drive.

“Each year, this is an opportunity for us to pay it forward and give back to the community who has given so much to us,” said Tim Bolander, president and general manager of CT Comm.

The winter items dropped off in the CT Comm lobby, 126 Scioto St., Urbana, are used as Christmas tree decorations for the tree in the CT Comm lobby during the collection period, Dec. 1-Dec. 21. Once the drive period is over, all winter items are donated to those in need at The Caring Kitchen.

“This is a great opportunity for families of all sizes to encourage their children to participate and teach them valuable lessons about giving back to their community,” said Emily Huffman, CT Comm Customer Service and Sales manager. She encourages families to “have fun” in the process while shopping for cold weather apparel for families in need.

New and gently used mittens, hats, gloves and scarves of all sizes are needed and accepted – for babies, children and adults – to ensure the warmth of heads, hands and hearts this winter.
