Longtime Urbana resident Rick Rademacher is living in The Villages, Florida, these days and recently was elected to the board of the North Sumter County Utility Dependent District, which provides water and wastewater services for over 50,000 customers in The Villages.

Rademacher told the Daily Citizen via email that he received 73 percent of votes on election day and will occupy Seat 6 on the 10-member utility board.

He indicates he’s having a fine time in Florida. “While I miss many things and people found only in Urbana, I really enjoy living in the number 1 planned retirement community in the US,” he says.
