Police raid East Reynolds Street home

At 9 p.m. Thursday, the Urbana Police Division conducted a drug-related search warrant raid at Apt. 3 at 235 E. Reynolds St. as part of an ongoing drug investigation involving residents there.

Seven officers led by Sgt. Jason Kizer found three adults and two children in the home. An adult male reportedly was attempting to destroy drug evidence.

Police recovered items of drug evidence, including methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana. The children were turned over to the care of an adult relative while police interviewed the three adults and searched the home.

After the search and interviews police released the adults and plan to present cases involving drug crimes to a Champaign County grand jury.
