LifeCare Alliance, the Midwest’s leading provider of Meals-on-Wheels, is pleased to announce its partnership with Rock’n Robin Diner, located at 1010 Scioto Street in Urbana. LifeCare Alliance Nutrition Program Assistant Director Leah Bunck spearheaded the relationship with Judy Rickards, owner of Rock’n Robin Diner, and the Area Agency on Agency to serve the seniors 60 years of age and older who present vouchers for their no-cost meal, but voluntary contributions are welcomed. Participants will receive enough vouchers to cover breakfast Monday-Friday from 6-10 a.m.

“We will distribute the vouchers on Monday, October 15 between 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Friday, October 19, 2018, between noon to 2 p.m.,” states Bunck. “We are so excited for the opportunity to have a senior program at Rock’n Robin. The senior size breakfast meals will be prepared by Rock n’ Robin, with an option to purchase additional items and to socialize with current friends while meeting new friends in the community.” Beginning in November, the coupons will be distributed the first Wednesday of the month from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The vouchers that are distributed on October 15 can be used the same day. LifeCare Alliance launched this program in Logan County at Lakeview AMVETS and serves 500 meals a month. In 2017, AMVETS served more than 5,000 meals.
