ST. PARIS – Graham’s Board of Education presented the Summer 2017 Graham Admiration Award to the family of the late George Dallas, former educator and administrator of schools.

Bill Dallas, son of George Dallas, joined via video conference form California as Mike Ludlow shared prepared remarks about the career and life of George Dallas.

“George was a dynamic leader: outgoing, happy, did not know a stranger. He was energetic, and energizing,” said member Mike Ludlow about the former music teacher and band director.

“Trying to put the man into words is a challenge, because he was one of those people who was so full of life.” Mr. Dallas served Graham as Superintendent from 1967-1974. He also served as the county superintendent for several years. His work in 1968 to help lead Graham to the passage of one of the two successful operating levies in their history helped set the district up for several years of stability and achievement during his tenure.

The Baseball Scoreboard, as well as Graham’s Football Stadium, are named for Mr. Dallas. “He loved his family and community, and he showed it in everything he did.”
