“Figaro” by Charles Morey, freely adapted from “Le Mariage De Figaro” by Beaumarchais, will be presented by Sansami Creative Works, LLC, Urbana, at The Hub at Urbana University at 8 p.m. Friday, July 21, Saturday, July 22, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 29.

Directed by Sawyer A. Shafer, the play concerns Figaro, who is getting married in the morning. This enterprising servant, barber and professional troublemaker couldn’t be happier, but with everybody scheming to come between him and his bride, he will need all his cunning to make it down the aisle.

This new non-musical adaptation of Beaumarchais’ comic masterpiece is billed as hilariously funny and with a razor sharp political edge.
