CCPA dinner is July 18

The Champaign County Preservation Alliance will hold its annual meeting July 18 at the Urbana Country Club, 4761 U.S. Route 36. The dinner meeting is an opportunity for the board members to share with the general membership the status of the various projects and programs the alliance has in place. In addition, officers for 2017/18 will be elected. Following the business meeting, awards will be presented to the Volunteer of the Year and the Preservationist of the Year. These awards are in recognition of the dedication shown by community members to the principles of preservation and the commitment of their time to CCPA projects and the community.

The keynote speaker for the evening is Staci Weller, Executive Director of the Grand Works Foundation. Her topic “Just Imagine…The Gloria” will be an update on the restoration of the Gloria Theater and the projects completed in Phase I and what to expect in Phase II and in the future.

The cost of the dinner is $20 and reservations may be made by calling Sandy Gonzalez, 937-408-4195 by July 10, 2017.
