PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

My name is Sugar Bean. I am a pretty girl with wonderful markings. My favorite things are my kitty friends, sitting in the sunlit window and being held. I am looking for a forever home. I am litter box trained. I tested negative for feline leukemia and I am up to date on my shots. I am just the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet. Everyone at the shelter loves me. Wouldn’t you like to bring me home? I would be wonderful companion for you and a devoted pet. Adopt me!

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078 or call Paws Animal Shelter at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana.

PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Meet our 3-legged sweetheart, Ebony, a 6-year-old Lab mix. She is very short for a Lab, so we aren’t sure what the mix is. She came to us as a stray about 1 year ago. She had a badly mangled leg and it was amputated soon after her arrival. Later she was adopted but recently brought back due to owner relocation. Ebony is a sweet, playful and loving girl. She is good with most other dogs but will need a proper introduction and some time to adjust. She seems to be ok with cats. Ebony has had interaction with children, while lounging around in our front office, and she has been very friendly and loving with them.

She is not good with sudden moves. This can naturally change once she has a home and she is out of the shelter life. Please consider this little 3 leg wonder girl for your family addition. Stop by and meet Ebony and bring plenty of treats.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

If you are looking for an older, distinguished gentleman, Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) has the boy for you. Bam Bam is a beautiful, 8-year-old, tan and white Pekingese who wants to be your only dog. He is good with children and adults, but not with cats and other dogs. Bam Bam is house-trained and does well in a crate. He really wants someone that will love and cuddle with him and take him on short walks.

Bam Bam has been neutered, heart worm tested, fully vaccinated, wormed, treated with heart worm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention. Bam Bam has also been micro-chipped and comes with his 2017 dog license and has had a dental cleaning with necessary extractions.

If you would like to meet Bam Bam or any of our adoption-ready residents at Champaign County Animal Welfare League, please visit us at 3858 state Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. You may also reach us at 937-834-5236 every day except Sunday and Tuesday when we are closed. We are also closed this Monday, May 29, to observe Memorial Day. To view a listing of all our available pets, please visit petfinder.com and/or adoptapet.com. We also feature our newest residents on Facebook.

We require an approved adoption application for all adoptions. You can fill out an application in house or download an application from our webpage at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. Our adoption donation is $150.00, cash or check.

Over-bathing your dog can cause dry skin, which results in itching and flaking. Avoid these issues, but keep your pup smelling fresh, by giving him a quick dry bath. Brush out his coat first to loosen dead hair, dirt, and debris. Wipe him down with a towel spritzed with a solution of half apple cider vinegar and half water. Follow up by sprinkling baking soda on him and rubbing it in, which will neutralize the smell of the vinegar. Let it sit for a minute or two, then brush it off. Tip: Give your dog his dry bath outdoors, or another place where a little mess won’t matter!

Barely Used Pets

Our names are Spike, Mitzi and Molly. We were all brought into Barely Used Pets together. I’m Spike. I know it’s kind of hard to tell which one I am, but I’m the little man of the group. I am only 7 months old and the girls are both 8 months old. We are also known as the 3 Amigos by all of the other dogs. You should come out and see us! This place is so much fun with the playground and all of the other dogs here. Most of them are bigger than us, but that’s alright because we can hold our own, LOL. We are sweet kids and we just need a new start in life with new forever families. None of us take us much space, so we won’t be much trouble and with a little coaxing I think…well at least I can speak for “me” on this one…sitting next to you on the sofa and watching some serious TV could be on our list for every day. Of course then we will need to schedule lots of little naps together! Won’t you please come out and play with us? We just need a chance to be happy again!

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. Our regular hours are: Open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are CLOSED on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We are in real need of lots and lots of paper towels! If you can bring us some we would surely appreciate it. The 3 Amigos say…”Thanks so much for considering us and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes! OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!”

Being short and 3-legged doesn’t stop sweet Ebony from being playful and loving. She recently lost her previous owner and needs a new one to visit PAWS Animal Shelter and fall into puppy love.

Eight-year-old Bam Bam has been dubbed “distinguished” by caretakers at the Champaign County Animal Welfare League. He seems to like people of all ages, but prefers not to mingle with four-legged critters. Visit the shelter and meet this cuddly fellow.
