John Titus presents an award for first responders to Sgt. Jason Byers for participation in last year’s Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Run. The award was shared due to a tie between the Urbana Police Division and the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office. The “cross,” was given to the Tituses by an anonymous steel worker, was made from a steel beam from the South Tower of the WTC after 9/11. Their daughter Alicia was killed when United Flight 175 was flown into the South Tower. This year’s Run for Peace will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m. at Urbana University. Register and pay online at http://www.cantstoprunningco.com or return the registration form with entry fee (payable to The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund) to Urbana University, Attn: Tammy Leiker, 579 College Way, Urbana, OH 43078.
