MAD RIVER TWP. – The cause of a fire that destroyed a barn over the weekend is under investigation by the Johnson-St. Paris Fire District.

JSP Capt. Jevon Monaghan said firefighters responded to 919 Troy Hill Road shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday on a report of a structure fire. Monaghan said the barn is a total loss as a result of the fire but a damage estimate remained under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

The Urbana Fire Division also responded to the fire to provide mutual aid. Monaghan said the fire was under control in under half an hour and JSP cleared the scene after four to five hours.

The property is owned by Ricky Dooley according to the Champaign County Auditor’s website.
