Mechanicsburg Police Department hopes to raise funds to get K9

MECHANICSBURG – The Mechanicsburg Police Department continues efforts to raise funds to acquire a K9 officer, and two events have been planned to further that cause.

“Mayberry in Mechanicsburg” will be presented at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 15, at the high school. The presentation features the daughter of Don Knotts, Karen, and actor David Browning, “the Mayberry Deputy.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students. Proceeds will go to the K9 fund.

The Mechanicsburg Police Officers Association is holding a fundraising raffle for K9 Max. First prize is $500. Second prize is a $500 Vance’s gift card. Third prize is a $100 Kroger gift card. Each of the 14 4th prize winners will receive a $10 Subway gift card.

The raffle drawing is April 17. For tickets, drop by the village police department or talk to a police officer.
