Master Gardeners of Clark County and OSU Extension host Spring Fling

SPRINGFIELD – The cure for winter-itis is Garden Fling, a day of “all things garden.” The event will be 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Kenton Ridge High School, 4444 Middle-Urbana Road, Springfield. Doors and vendors open at 8:30 a.m. Garden programs begin at 9 a.m.

Choose to attend one or several garden-related classes. This year’s keynote speaker is Laura Deeter, Ph.D., of The Ohio State University. She will present Know Maintenance-Perennials at 10:15 a.m. and Modern Landscape Design for the Modern Garden at 12:30 p.m.

Other presentations include Springing into Beekeeping, Working with Succulents, How to Grow Dahlias, Common Sense-Coyotes and Managing Wildlife on the Home Front, Landscape Design, Adding Garden Structures to Your Yard, and Basic Vegetable Gardening Plans.

Pamela Bennett, Ohio State University Extension Educator, will present What’s Happening at Snyder Park at 1:45 p.m.

This “come and go as you please” event includes a full day of shopping at the Garden Bazaar and offers many opportunities to escape the winter doldrums and jump-start spring.

Admission is $10 payable at the door. No pre-registration. The event is sponsored by Master Gardeners of Clark County and Ohio State University Extension.
