ST. PARIS – Graham Middle School’s new principal is official, the school board determined Monday.

The board approved reassigning Elementary School Assistant Principal Chad Lensman to middle school principal for the 2017-18 school year.

Lensman will replace retiring Middle School Principal Tim Zigler.

Lensman’s salary will increase from his current $69,445, 215-day contract to a $74,475, 225-day contract, Treasurer Judy Geers said.

The district is working through a number of administrative changes, which began at the previous board meeting. The resignation of the curriculum director and maintenance technician brought about the reorganization, as administrators determined the position may not be necessary.

As part of the reorganization, the curriculum director position was abolished effective July 31, 2017; two education coordinator positions and a network coordinator position were created, starting the 2017-18 school year. Current High School Principal Joe Hurst will fill one of those education coordinator positions, and a new high school principal will be hired, Superintendent Kirk Koennecke said previously.

In other action, the board:

•Accepted the resignation of lunchroom worker Angela Zerkle, effective March 10, 2017.

•Approved one-year limited contracts for Tutors for Individualized Services (Home Instruction/Intervention Tutors/Summer School Physical Education) for the 2016-17 school year.

•Approved hiring Head 7th grade MS Volleyball Assistant Coach Jodi Bishop and Boys Freshman Basketball Assistant Coach and Junior Varsity Baseball Assistant Coach David Steele; all for the 2016-17 school year.

•Approved hiring Girls MS Basketball Assistant Coach Joe Wilson, Head MS Track Assistant Coach Kevin Fritts, and MS Track Assistant Coach Roger Geers, all for the 2016-17 school year.
