The Muzzy Road bridge has been reopened, city Engineer Tyler Bumbalough reported Tuesday. He said most of the work on the bridge has been completed.
Over the years, the bridge has been closed periodically for safety reasons. Earlier this year, the city of Urbana addressed the issue by entering into a $109,813 contract with Tom’s Construction Inc. to widen the bridge deck by adding four feet on each side. The project includes the installation of guardrails.
