Pizza sale proceeds to spruce up dog park

0

Big plans to improve Fido’s Field are in progress. The Champaign County Citizens for Canines (CCCC) partnered with the city of Urbana to plant two trees outside the fence in the southwest corner of the dog park in Melvin Miller Park. The goal is to plant a couple trees each year to help beautify and add shade to the park. Also, planning for agility equipment for both the big-dog area and the little-dog area is nearing completion.

CCCC is having the annual Little Caesar’s Pizza Sale to support Fido’s Field improvements. A number of pizza options are available to purchase all-inclusive make-your-own-kits to microwave personal pizzas plus Crazy Bread and cookie dough kits. Delivery is the Friday before the Super Bowl, which makes it convenient for party planning while helping out the canine community.

Orders can be accepted until Jan. 24. Payment must be made at the time of the order. Orders will be available for pickup at CRSI, 1150 Scioto St. on Feb. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. If interested in purchasing a kit, leave a message at 937-484-6018 and a CCCC member will contact you. Or order online at http://www.pizzakit.com/fundraising-products?shop=1&f=325753&s=131041. The CCCC fundraiser ID is 327804.

Routine maintenance and upgrades planned for the dog park are possible due to the support received from donations and fundraisers like the pizza sale. The reward is watching dogs and their caretakers enjoying off-leash time together and dogs running free and safe.

The CCCC expressed appreciation to all who make this possible.
