PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Meet our little Reba. Reba is an 8-month-old Bassett/Beagle mix. She came to Paws Shelter very, very scared and timid. Reba hid under her cot and blanket for over a week after she was brought to us. The noise in the shelter kennel area just petrified her, even when let out into the open area where our dogs run and socialize. She hid behind anything available when a human came near. Reba gets along well with the other dogs here but is still a bit shy with people. You see, Reba was a puppy mill dog who was adopted and released to us, due to no fault of her own. She came from the worst situation…. a puppy mill and no socialization. She needs love and a lot of cuddles and attention to help erase her memories of the past. Please come and visit with this wonderful girl… she has so much love to give.

All of our dogs are looking for a loving home where they can be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

Barely Used Pets

Hi! My name is Capone. I am a chihuahua-mix boy and only 7 months old. I weigh 8 pounds so I’m just a little guy. I came in here with my buddy and he already got a new forever family. We were brought in by relatives of a guy who had to go to the big house (jail) for a really, really long time. So the family said “uh…what about the little guys with 4 legs?” I said “Are you talkin’ about me?!” They were, and they realized that they could not keep us and wanted to make sure we found new homes. I have had a great time running with the gang here. You have got to come and see this party atmosphere we’ve got going on over here on the little dog side. We get to go out on the playground and everything! I love my buddies here, but I just want a family of my own. I am a teenager at heart, so I need playtime if you can run with me! I want to curl up on the sofa and have a soft bed maybe even near the TV…and then maybe I can negotiate for a space on your lap. Please, please give me a chance to be happy and grow up with you. I promise I will love you back so much you will want me in your lap every day so we can catch up. You can tell me everything and I will keep your secrets…we can be bestest friends.

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. We will be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day…so if you are tired of football come out and play with us! Our regular hours are: Open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We need Clorox the most right now if you can drop off a couple of gallons for us! We need Lysol Lemon spray cleaner, paper towels, Dawn dish soap (original), and laundry soap. We can also use the elevated pet beds by Kuranda (go to kuranda.com). Any donations are always appreciated. Please take a look at our website for other ideas for donations. Happy Holidays from all of us at Barely Used Pets! Thank you all for adopting our little ones and for all of the donations and volunteer work you have done throughout the year.

Thanks so much for considering me and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes! OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!

Hey, what are you doing New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day? Come over and play with us! We are open Saturday 11am-2pm and Sunday (New Year’s Day) 1-4pm. Who needs football when you can come and get your doggie fix?

Eight-month-old Reba needs a loving home where she can learn to trust humans. She had no socialization at the puppy mill that was her “home” prior to arriving at PAWS Animal Shelter. She now gets along with the other dogs, but is still a bit shy with humans. She needs time and the right person(s).

Capone is a 7-month old Chihuahua-mix “teen” who loves to play and cuddle with his people. He and his last person were forced to separate and his current caretakers at Barely Used Pets know he’s anxious for his new person to walk through the door.
