Minor injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash early Friday.

According to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, at 6:22 a.m., the Champaign Countywide Communication Center received a 911 call in reference to a three-vehicle crash with injuries at 3895 E. state Route 29.

The Urbana Fire Division and Mechanicsburg Fire and EMS responded with Champaign County deputies.

A 2001 Chrysler, operated by Courtney L. Oder, of Urbana, was traveling eastbound on East state Route 29. Oder reportedly failed to see the stopped traffic in her lane for the eastbound school bus.

Oder’s vehicle struck a stopped Honda Odyssey driven by Sean M. Rollins, of Sidney. Rollins’ vehicle was then pushed into a 1997 Chevrolet SUV driven by Carlos Byrd, of Urbana.

Urbana and Mechanicsburg EMS transported Oder along with her two children, ages 5 and 3 months old, to Mercy Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remained under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office as of Friday afternoon.
