On Tuesday, members of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office participated in the annual “Stomp Out a Blue Christmas.”

During this event, members shopped for children of all ages to ensure a Merry Christmas for families in Champaign County. This is an annual event in which the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 46 and the Champaign County Deputies Association participate.

The sheriff’s office recognized the following organizations for helping make this event successful: The Fraternal Order of Eagles of Mechanicsburg, Orbis Corporation, Custom Sportswear & Embroidery, White’s Auto Group and Walmart of Urbana.

The sheriff’s office also recognized the many citizens of the community who donated to this cause.

Sheriff Matthew R. Melvin and the members of the sheriff’s office wished everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.

Presents will be wrapped at The Fraternal Order of Eagles of Mechanicsburg on Dec. 13 and Santa will make an early delivery with the sheriff’s office on Dec. 20.
