Santa arrived in style Nov. 25 as part of the Holiday Horse Parade. A Santa Land is set up inside the Gloria Theatre in downtown Urbana. Courtesy of the Monument Square District, Santa’s temporary abode is open to children and their gift lists from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 23. On Dec. 24, Santa will be available from noon to 2 p.m., then must dash back to the North Pole.

A holiday tradition is window shopping, and Carmazzi’s window in the southwest section of Monument Square has been a popular window through which to gaze for many years. Many residents, visitors and former residents returning as visitors make a habit of checking out the new and old-time goodies offered by the popular downtown store.
