Floodwaters near Logan County’s McColly bridge

After inundating the area with rain earlier this year, Mother Nature bestowed on western Ohio another blast of spring-like weather, only she waited until December to do it. In the warmest December recorded for the region, several inches of rain over the past two weeks again flooded many parts of Logan County, closing roads and isolating rural farms. Shown here is the McColly covered bridge on county Road 13 in Logan County near the Shelby County line. Several other bridges north of the McColly bridge toward Indian Lake have been closed because of the flooding.
