The Urbana University Singers will perform in three local churches as part of their traditional worship services on Sunday, Nov. 27. This student choir will sing material from its “Tis the Season” holiday concert scheduled on Dec. 3. The group is under the leadership of Urbana University’s new Director of Music, Bridget Olenik, and is accompanied by Julie Gallagher.

Urbana churches participating in the Nov. 27 “Church Sing” are Messiah Lutheran, Swedenborgian Church, and Church of the Nazarene. “We are looking forward to visiting churches within our community,” said Director Bridget Olenik. “This is a great way to get another performance of our concert material before the actual concert, as well as share music with our community. We hope that the congregation members from these churches will enjoy our visit enough to join us on Dec. 3.”

The University Singers will perform during the 10 a.m. services for both the Church of the Nazarene and Swedenborgian Church, then visit Messiah Lutheran during the 10:45 a.m. service.

“Tis the Season with the Urbana University Singers” will be presented at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Urbana Swedenborgian Church, 330 S. Main St. This concert is free and open to the public.
