December rainbow over DeGraff

0

Riverside students got a treat as they got out of school on Monday, Dec. 14 when this full rainbow appeared over the village of DeGraff just as the final bell rang and students made their way out of the east exit. Rainbows occur most often when it is both raining and the sun is shining at the same time, the water in the rain acting as a prism and breaking the light into the visible color spectrum. There were no reports of pots of gold being found at either end of the rainbow.
