Back injuries are all too common among Americans and can lead to a life of pain and suffering. Those who do manual labor either at work or around the house increase the risk of a strain. Many times these injuries can be prevented by implementing some key work practices. On Jan. 7, Andy Bauer with Ohio AgrAbility will discuss ways to decrease the risk of a back injury.
The topics addressed will be:
•Identify the 3 types of back injuries.
•Demonstrate proper lifting and work practices to prevent back strain.
•Learn how various products incorporate Universal Design and Assistive Technology features to make the chores easier.
This session is open to anyone interested in learning about ways to work smarter to avoid injuries. It will be held in the Champaign County Community Center Auditorium from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Jan. 7. Please RSVP to 937-484-1526 or Douridas.email@example.com. Light refreshments will be provided.
