Michael Eckers will visit the Champaign County Library at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, to share his program “WWII: The Home Front,” a look at the lives of those who remained stateside, while front line battles raged across the world during World War II.

Eckers is the author of Colors in the Air, Wisconsin Iron, and several other works of historical fiction, as well as a memoir about his 28-year career in the Postal Service. His passion for American military history inspired him to travel across the country presenting information to libraries about the nation’s past.

Copies of his various books will be available for purchase and signing after he discusses the sacrifices made by many during World War II. Refreshments for this free event will be provided by the Friends of the Library. For more information, stop by the Champaign County Library at 1060 Scioto St., Urbana, or call 937-653-3811.
