PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Fall in love with Jasper. Jasper has the softest fur and sweetest purr! He has such a sunny personality, just like his coloring. Jasper has beautiful beckoning eyes. He is a handsome boy who loves attention. Jasper is a quiet cat that is looking for a good home. He would be the perfect companion. He gets along with all the cats and likes to play. Jasper was declawed on his front feet prior to coming to the shelter. When adopted Jasper will have to be an indoor cat. He can’t defend himself or climb a tree to escape, if he is let outside. He is up to date on his shots and has been neutered. Jasper tested negative for feline leukemia and he is litter box trained. He would be thrilled to have you as his best forever friend. Please come to Paws and adopt this wonderful, mellow yellow boy.

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, or call the shelter at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana. There are many wonderful cats, adorable kittens and fun-loving dogs at the shelter waiting for good homes. Paws Animal Shelter needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Puppy Chow. We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent, 39 gallon trash bags and clumping cat litter. We are a nonprofit organization that operates only by donations. We do not receive any city, county or state funding. We depend on public donations and our adoption fees to run the shelter. Please consider making a donation to help fund our shelter. This is puppy and kitten season. We often get in puppies or kittens with no mother. Consider fostering puppies or kittens. Sign up on our foster list. We are always looking for volunteers to come to the shelter and help out. You could play with the cats or dogs to help socialize them.

Barely Used Pets

Hi. My name is Dexter and I am a French Bulldog/Westie mix boy. I am 5 years old and weigh just under 30 pounds. I come from a home that had 3 dogs and I didn’t get along with one of them. So they brought me here to find a new home. I really am a good boy, but I need a new family now. I am great with kids and really I do like most other dogs. You can see that when you come to visit me. I love to play! Won’t you please take me home with you?

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. We are open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 11am-6pm and Saturdays 11am-2pm. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We need Clorox the most right now if you can drop off a couple of gallons for us! We need Lysol Lemon spray cleaner, paper towels, Dawn dish soap (original), and laundry soap. We can also use the elevated pet beds by Kuranda (go to kuranda.com). Any donations are always appreciated. Please take a look at our website for other ideas for donations. Please note that our garage sale originally scheduled for August 20th has been delayed…we’ll be having it on Saturday, October 8th! Please bring your gently used items to us as donations for the sale…and of course please come to the Garage Sale from 10am-4pm!

Thanks so much for considering me and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us.

PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Howdy, folks. My name is Duke. I’m a young, (only 1 year old), Bloodhound mix little boy. I am so very friendly and sweet. I really have no bad habits…I meet everyone with a wiggly butt tail wag and a doggy smile. I get along super well with the other doggies here and I am a little interested in the kitties. I would love to have a huge area to run and play outside. I was brought to the shelter as a stray and I’ve been waiting for my family to come and get me…but they haven’t. I would love to make your family complete. Please come and meet me and see if I would fit into your home. I sure would love be your children’s best friend. Can’t wait to meet you!!

All of our dogs are looking for a loving home where they can be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

So, Halloween is coming and your sweet tooth is going crazy? Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) has the cure. Please meet our very sweet little Katie, a 2-year-old, long-hair Chihuahua. Katie is not the type of girl for long walks, but she will spend cold, winter nights on your lap. At only 3.8 pounds she is a whole lot of love and wants only to be with you. Katie definitely loves every human she meets, adult or child. However, because of her small size, we would not recommend she be in a home with small children. Katy is so small and loving that we do not see a problem with her getting along with other pets. Katie was found as an unclaimed stray and has worked her way into the hearts of everyone she meets.

As with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, Katie was completely vetted before being put up for adoption. Katie has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations including rabies, worming, heart-worm testing and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. CCAWL adopted dogs are all micro-chipped and have their 2016 dog license and dental cleaning. If you are interested in visiting Katie or any other of the adoptable pets at CCAWL, please call us at 937-834-5236. We are located at 3858 State Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. Dog and Cat adoption applications can be found online at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. You may fax an adoption application to 937-834-5171. A complete listing of our available pets may be found at www.petfinder.com and www.adoptapet.com.

CCAWL is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of the pets of Champaign County. We, like all other non profit organizations rely on donations and public support. We are currently in need of Q-tips, Bleach (not concentrated), Dawn dish soap, Dial antibacterial hand soap and laundry detergent. All donations are accepted and greatly appreciated.

If you are looking to support CCAWL by volunteering, we would love to meet you. Applications may be picked up at our location. We also require proof of a current tetanus shot to accompany the completed application.

Sweet, quiet and with no front claws, Jasper would make a good indoor pet. Check him out at PAWS Animal Shelter.

Five-year-old Dexter likes kids and most dogs, but wasn’t getting along with one of his furry housemates, so wound up at Barely Used Pets. All hope he’ll get along better with a new family.

Obviously ready for Halloween, cute little Katie is a sweetheart that may get along with most pets, but because of her size she is not recommended for a home with children. She’d be perfect for an adult lap. Pay her a visit at the Champaign County Animal Welfare League.
