Graham board accepts principal retirement

ST. PARIS – Graham Middle School Principal John “Tim” Zigler will be retiring at the end of June 2017.

The Graham school board accepted Zigler’s resignation for retirement at its Monday meeting.

The board also approved several coach hirings, including Varsity Girls Track Head Coach John Tullis, MS Football (7th) Assistant Coach Nathan Anderson, JV Volleyball Assistant Coach Darcie Zirkle, Varsity Softball Head Coach Ralph Foster, and Junior Varsity Softball Assistant Coach Chloe Ward, all for the 2016-17 school year.

In other action, the board:

•Accepted the resignation of Job Share Teacher (.5) Ginger King, effective Oct. 14.

•Approved hiring Elementary Choir Accompanist Wendy Blosser, Assistant Marching Band Director Robert Fagan and Band Aide Ashli McAlexander, all for the 2016-17 school year.

•Approved a $75 stipend per GOAL student per semester enrolled in the online elective courses for the 2016-17 school year for GOAL Physical Education Teacher Richard Clark.

•Approved a stipend for Resident Educator Program Coordinator Kristine Randall for the 2016-17 school year.

•Approved a one-year limited contract for lunchroom worker Theresa Dunn, effective Sept. 29, 2016.

•Approved a resolution designating Oct. 17 to Oct. 21, 2017 as National School Bus Safety Week.

•Approved the Graham and Indian Lake Ag Ed/FFA overnight trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, Oct. 19-21.

•Approved appointing Steve Setty as the delegate and Mike Ludlow as the alternate for the Ohio School Board Association’s Capital Conference Annual Business Meeting.
