A man who pleaded guilty to felony charges in two criminal cases was sent to prison this week.

Andrew D. Evilsizor, 34, received a total prison sentence of 24 months plus an additional 730 days during a sentencing hearing Monday. He pleaded guilty to a fourth degree felony trafficking in cocaine charge and a fifth degree felony breaking and entering charge in July.

In addition to the 24-month prison sentence imposed from these charges, the court imposed the additional prison time as Evilsizor was on post release control at the time he committed the felony offenses. According to court documents, Evilsizor was on post release control following a prison term for a 2012 Champaign County case where he was charged with having weapons while under disability and possession of heroin.

Evilsizor was one of three people indicted in relation to a drug raid by the Urbana Police Division at 718 Mosgrove St. on March 29.

Several officers responded to the residence on that date as the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking there involving heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, Suboxone, prescription narcotics and marijuana, in the vicinity of a school and while young children were present.

Misty S. Shorten, 27, pleaded guilty to an amended felony charge of attempted tampering of evidence, felony trafficking in cocaine and permitting drug abuse and two first degree misdemeanor endangering children charges in May and was placed on community control for three years in June.

Jason T. Daniels, 36, pleaded guilty to felony charges of trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin in addition to two first degree misdemeanor endangering children charges in May and was sentenced to 24 months in prison in July.

The breaking and entering charge against Evilsizor is related to a Dec. 17, 2015, breaking and entering theft of a Polaris ATV from a West Water Street residence.

In addition to the prison sentence, Evilsizor was ordered to pay $1,700 in restitution. Upon his release, Evilsizor is subject to post release control for a period of up to three years.
