Enrichment Center recognizes Troutman

Kendra Troutman, who has been a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at the Person Centered Services Career and Life Enrichment Center in Urbana for three years, was selected by Person Centered Services (PCS) as the 2016 DSP of the Year.

Cindy Anderson, RN, Director of the Urbana PCS Center, said that to be a DSP, a person needs a spirit of caring to enable people with intellectual and developmental disabilities become more independent. Direct support professionals provide individualized support, including job training, daily life skills, transportation, budgeting assistance, medical oversight and recreation opportunities. They help people live independently and safely become involved in their community as well as maintain relationships with family and friends.

The Urbana Career and Life Enrichment Center is operated by Person Centered Services. PCS serves approximately 350 people in nine-day habilitation centers in Ohio.
