Mechanicsburg school board approves bus purchase, coaches

MECHANICSBURG – The Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools board approved a bus purchase and a number of coaches at its Monday meeting.

The school board approved the purchase of one 78-passenger conventional bus for $82,369, from Cardinal Bus Sales and Service Inc. It was the low bid for the bus.

The school board also approved hiring High School Wrestling Assistant Coach (50 percent) Tony Rozmus; Middle School Wrestling Head Coach Cory Hitchcock; Middle School Wrestling Assistant Coach Scott Wasserman; High School Wrestling Assistant Coach Rick Allen; and Middle School Cross Country Coach Stephen Magyar; all for the 2015-16 school year.

The board also recognized athletic achievement for participants in Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys Golf and Soccer at its meeting.

In other action, the board:

•Approved minutes and financial statements.

•Approved substitutes for the 2015-16 school year.

•Approved Basketball volunteer Corey Mays for the 2015-16 school year.

•Approved volunteer 7th grade Girls Basketball Coach Brian Forrest.

•Approved Teacher Mentor for Kali McDonald, Brittany Whitt; High School Student Council Advisor Brittany Whitt; Middle School Student Council (50 percent) Lori Lee; Teacher Mentor for Matt Siegel and Sarah Wallschlaeger, Kim Poland; LPDC Chair Kim Poland; Pep Band Brad Oyer; Class of 2016 Advisor Sarah Wallschlaeger; and Teacher Mentors Brooke Welty, Bryan Eyink and Nichole Fillman, all for the 2015-16 school year.
