PAWS Animal Shelter

Hi, my name is Flamingo. Yes, I know my name is unusual for a kitten. I came to Paws Animal Shelter with my brother, Hot Dog, and my sister, Flower. We didn’t have our mother with us so we needed to be bottle-fed by a kind foster caregiver. The foster’s son named us. We are back at Paws and old enough to be adopted. My brother, Hot Dog, already got adopted. Flower and I are waiting for our perfect homes. I know that someone will come to come to Paws Animal Shelter and fall in love with me. I am a well mannered little boy kitten who wants a forever home. I love to play and to be held. My soft purr will definitely win you over. I like to explore and chase my toys around. I am current on my shots and will have a neuter certificate when adopted. You can see from my picture that I am a handsome fellow. I am litter box trained and the purr-fect gentleman. Once you meet me I am certain we will become instant pals.

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter located at 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, or call the shelter at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana. There are many wonderful cats, adorable kittens and fun-loving dogs at the shelter waiting for good homes. Paws Animal Shelter needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Puppy Chow. We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent, 39 gallon trash bags and clumping cat litter. We are a nonprofit organization that operates only by donations. We do not receive any city, county or state funding. We depend on public donations and our adoption fees to run the shelter. Please consider making a donation to help fund our shelter. This is puppy and kitten season. We often get in puppies or kittens with no mother. Consider fostering puppies or kittens. Sign up on our foster list. We are always looking for volunteers to come to the shelter and help out. You could play with the cats or dogs to help socialize them.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

Champaign County Animal Welfare League is pleased to present Snyder, a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. Snyder was released to us after having been found tied to a tree in Snyder Park. Even after being mistreated, Snyder is a happy and loving girl who loves people and gets along with other dogs. She appears to be indifferent to our shelter cats and is housebroken. Snyder weighs around 10-and-a-half pounds and is only 4 years old. She is an enthusiastic greeter and very happy to meet people of all ages.

As with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, Snyder was completely vetted before being put up for adoption. Included in the $130 adoption donation is spaying/neutering, vaccinations including rabies, worming, heart-worm testing and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. CCAWL adopted dogs are all micro-chipped and have their 2016 dog license and dental cleaning. If you are interested in visiting Snyder or any other of the adoptable pets at CCAWL, please call us at 937-834-5236. We are located at 3858 State Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. Dog and Cat adoption applications can be found online at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. You may fax an adoption application to 937-834-5171. A complete listing of our available pets may be found at www.petfinder.com and www.adoptapet.com.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League will be closed today to attend the following events. Please visit us at WAG FEST, the most fun dog day ever, 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. The event is at the Prairie Oaks Metro Park (Darby Bend Lake area) in Hilliard, Ohio. This is a fun day for both dogs and people and we hope you stop by our tent. You and your furry friend can walk trails and splash in a lake or just browse the fun booths. The area’s best dog-related product and service providers will be there to display their wares and help with your dog-related questions. This event is free, fun and family friendly.

Also today, CCAWL will be at the Mechanicsburg Dog Wash Event held at the Champion Feed and Pet Supply, 140 S. Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the Mechanicsburg FFA will wash your dog for just a donation. For $5.00, Dr. Sharon Heisler will give your dog a heart-worm test with the purchase of heart-worm prevention. The heartworm test, without a purchase, will be $10.00. This event also sponsors CLIP OUT CANCER benefiting the Ripley family. For a $10.00 donation, Dr. Heisler will trim your dog’s nails. We are looking forward to seeing you at these events.
