On Saturday, Aug. 20, the Mechanicsburg Eagles and CRSI will again sponsor an event on behalf of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, FOP Lodge No. 46 to “Wipe Out a Blue Christmas” for underprivileged children in Champaign County.

The event will be held at the Eagles Lodge, 2306 Eagle Road, Woodstock, starting at 3 p.m. Live music will be featured from 3 to 11 p.m. with three bluegrass bands, a fish fry, horseshoe and corn hole competition, and a dunk tank staffed by the sheriff’s office.

All proceeds go toward providing clothing and toys for children in Champaign County who would otherwise be without.

This will the second year for the event. Last year, the generosity of Champaign County residents and businesses helped the FOP Lodge #46 raised over $5,500.

“We hope to surpass that total this year and touch the lives of even more less fortunate families,” a press release from the sheriff’s office states. “All contributions are tax deductible, if you or your company would like to contribute, please contact the Eagles, CRSI, or The Champaign County FOP Lodge #46.”
