Crash results in minor injuries

A two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Salem Township is under investigation by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office. According to Sheriff Matt Melvin, at 12:21 p.m. deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. Route 68 and East state Route 296. An initial investigation revealed a 1991 Ford Escort driven by William Millice, 74, of Cable, was eastbound and through the intersection when a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Cassie Stithem, 18, of Fort Riley, Kansas, turned southbound and struck Millice’s vehicle in the driver’s side door. Millice was treated at the scene by Urbana EMS for minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
