Ceremony honors US Army Air Corps veterans Oct. 3
The Champaign Aviation Museum, Urbana, will hold a Remembrance Day ceremony for U.S. Army Air Corps veterans of WWII at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The service is for families of deceased USAAC veterans and for living veterans and their families. It is a day to honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives during WWII. Female World War II pilots to visit Oct. 10
The Champaign Aviation Museum in partnership with Ridgewood School in Springfield will host several of the female pilots who flew during World War II. They served the United States flying the aircraft such as B-17, B-25, P-51 and many others. These Women Air Service Pilots now in their 90’s will be speaking about their experiences. The brunch event is Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon to hear the women pilots of the greatest generation. Event is open to the public. Cost is $20 and includes a light brunch.
