*Wetland Warriors, Butterfly Hunt, Tuesday, July 19, 9 a.m.-noon

Leadingham Prairie

Over 40 species of butterflies have been identified at the Leadingham Prairie. Butterflies are beneficial to our ecosystems as they pollinate many of our native plant species. Many people travel the world to see butterflies but you can see them right in your own “backyard”. Be sure to wear a long sleeved shirt, long pants, a hat, and old shoes. It will be hot, so please bring plenty of water.

*Wetland Warriors, Habitat Trek, Thursday, July 21, 9 a.m.-noon

Leadingham Prairie

Search for the habitats of different species such as the Great Blue Heron, the Big Brown Bat, the Red-winged Blackbird and the Gray Treefrog. See how many YOU can find on this habitat scavenger hunt. Be sure to wear a long sleeved shirt, long pants, a hat, and old shoes. It will be hot, so please bring plenty of water.

*Night Fishing, Friday, July 22 and Friday, Aug. 26, 9 p.m.-midnight

Hosterman Lake, George Rogers Clark Park

Join the Ranger Patrol Division for a fun, family night of fishing. Listen to the sounds of the night, visit with family and friends and catch some fish. Take advantage of this unique opportunity to fish Hosterman Lake at night! Bring your own fishing pole, bait, tackle, insect repellent and lantern or flashlight. Pack some snacks and have a night picnic. (Remember: No alcoholic beverages are allowed.) Please place all trash in the trash cans before you leave that night. Search for Ohio’s winged wonders, the butterflies, from the Pearl Crescent to the Monarch, with the Clark County Audubon Society. Bring binoculars if you have them!
