The Cancer Association of Champaign County will host its annual Celebrity Waits for Tips fundraiser at 6 p.m. June 21 at the Coppertop restaurant. Notable locals have volunteered to collect diners’ enhanced tips, which will be used to benefit those with cancer in the county.
Celebrity waiters are Tammy Vernon, co-owner of Vernon Family Funeral Homes; Emily MacKendrick, owner of One Eleven-A Fashion Boutique; Bryan Thompson, owner/manager of The Medicine Shoppe; Champaign Family YMCA Director Paul Waldsmith; David Bacher, owner of Noreast Transport and founder of the Rhythm and Foods Fest.
During the event, the CACC will sell raffle tickets for a plane ride with local pilot Jerry Damewood. Raffle tickets are $5 for one or $3 for 10.
Diners are asked to call the Coppertop at 937-653-6060 to make reservations for their favorite celebrity waiter.
