Animal Welfare League

Kaya is a one-year-old Retriever/Pittie beauty who is seeking an active owner that would appreciate her high energy. The retriever in Kaya comes out in the field and in the water. Kaya is treat-motivated and enjoys playing ball, swimming and catching Frisbees. She is very intelligent and learns quickly. Because of her friendly, high energy, she is not recommended for a home with small children. Kaya enjoys other dogs but her intense activity level could easily overwhelm a smaller or more laid back dog. Also Kaya and cats would not be a good combination. All Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, including Kaya, are completely vetted. Included in the $130 adoption donation is spaying/neutering, vaccinations including rabies, worming, heart-worm testing and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. CCAWL adopted dogs also come micro-chipped and have their 2016 dog license and dental cleaning. Please come by and visit Kaya or any of our other pets at CCAWL. You may reach us by calling 937-834-5236. We are located at 3858 SR 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. Our hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. We are closed Tuesday and Sunday. If later hours are needed, appointments are available. Dog and cat applications may be found online at http://www.champaigncountyanimalwelfareleague.com./ You may fax an adoption application to 937-834-5171. A complete listing of our available pets may be found on http://www.petfinder.com/ and http://www.adoptapet.com./ The trap, neuter, and return “TNR” effort in St. Paris occurred successfully the week of May 1 and will continue during the days of May 10, 11, and 12. Citizens of St. Paris are asked to refrain from feeding feral cats during this time and to contain their personal pets. CCAWL still has memberships available. Membership fees are $50 for Family, $35 for Individual and $25 for all Senior Citizens and Veterans. A membership gives you access to the many wooded trails, agility course and ponds on the 72 acres. CCAWL will also have a dog park, cemetery to spread ashes of lost pets, several picnic areas and track for those who do not or cannot walk the trails. Members also receive a 10 percent discount on all sterilizations as well as training classes offered. The dreams and visions of Mr. David Robert Wetzell are being brought to life and will be continued on for many years to come. Don’t miss being a part of this great organization!
