MECHANICSBURG – The Woman’s Tourist Club met for the April meeting at the Mechanicsburg Public Library on April 25. During the meeting the members learned about many outstanding women of the community nominated for the Empowered Woman Award.

This year’s recipient is Kay Miller. She gives selfless service in the Woman’s Tourist Club as a 25-year member and on the boards of Goshen Park and the Mechanicsburg Public Library. She works with other Champaign County organizations as well as her church, St Michael’s. Her friendliness, strength and community involvement make her a perfect example of an Empowered Woman.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Woman’s Tourist Club Empowered Woman Banquet on May 16 to honor Miller. The banquet will be at the Burnham House in Goshen Park with Amy Forrest catering the meal starting at 6 p.m. The cost of the meal is $15.
