All are invited to the Champaign County Library to learn more about the Meals-On-Wheels program at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 14.

A representative from LifeCare Alliance will conduct a presentation on the Meals-On-Wheels program that is available to Champaign County residents. LifeCare Alliance is always in search of volunteers for this important program. Learn how to deliver a meal and a smile to those in need within the community. Delivery takes only an hour. People can volunteer once a week, once a month, or any amount of time in between.

LifeCare Alliance was formed as central Ohio’s first in-home health care agency, Ohio’s first agency to provide visiting nurses, and the nation’s second agency to deliver Meals-on-Wheels.

LifeCare Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that provides a comprehensive array of health and nutrition services to older adults and medically challenged or homebound residents through its signature programs: Meals-on-Wheels, Senior Dining Centers, Wellness Centers, Help-at-Home, Visiting Nurses, The Columbus Cancer Clinic, Project OpenHand-Columbus, Groceries-to-Go, IMPACT Safety and Senior PetCare. The agency’s mission is to lead in identifying and delivering health and nutrition services to meet the community’s changing needs.

This program is part of the Champaign Talks speaker series at the Champaign County Library. Champaign Talks is a bi-monthly program held on the second Thursday at 10 a.m. every other month. Programs are geared toward senior citizens, however, anyone is welcome to attend. Various programs are offered throughout the year.

Refreshments will be provided during this free program. For more information, contact the Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto St., Urbana, 937-653-3811.
