Sealed bids for granite slabs removed from the Champaign County Courthouse steps will be accepted until next week.
Bids for the pieces of granite will be received in the office of the Champaign County Board of Commissioners, 1512 S. U.S. Highway 68, Suite A100, until 4 p.m. on April 7 for the sale of the property.
The granite may be inspected near the Champaign County Recycling Center, 2380 S. U.S. Highway 68, behind Vancrest of Urbana.
Bid sheets may be obtained at the commissioners’ office or may be obtained via email by submitting your request to email@example.com.
Bids for individual or multiple pieces may be submitted.
The board reserves the right to substitute an individual piece with another. However, buyers shall have the right to approve the substitution or be released from their obligation to purchase. Buyers will have three weeks after notification of their successful bid to submit payment and pick up their purchase.
Buyers will also be responsible for loading and transporting their purchase. Given the weight of the granite, special equipment will likely be necessary.
