The annual community Easter egg hunt was blessed with sunny skies on the hill of Urbana High School on Saturday.

The hunt was sponsored by the Urbana Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 93 in partnership with Judge Gil Weithman and family. Hundreds of local residents and their youngsters lined up on the east side of the lawn awaiting the green light to sprint for the eggs. Some eggs were obvious on the lawn and others were hidden in trees. Within minutes, all of the eggs had been detected and collected.

Urbana Police Sgt. and FOP President Josh Jacobs said there were over 2,500 Easter eggs divided between three age groups.

Jacobs said members of the Urbana High School National Honor Society also assisted with the hunt.
